HCNS Potty Training Policy
HCNS Diaper Policy
We are so excited to have your child with us at school for the new school year! At HCNS, our state licensing falls under the preschool heading rather than a daycare setting. With these guidelines in place, we are not licensed to change diapers in school and do not have changing tables and proper diaper trash cans. With this in mind, we want to give all families plenty of time to work on potty training over the summer for the September and January start dates. Please review the school diaper policy below, and contact us with any questions.
HCNS Diaper Policy
Help your child become independent in taking care of toilet needs. Our school is not licensed for diaper changing, therefore children cannot wear diapers to school and should be toilet trained. If necessary, students in the 2 ½ year old class may wear pull-ups for the occasional accident. We keep dry clothes on hand if needed and ask that you wash and return any clothes sent home from accidents at school. We understand potty training takes time and of course will clean up the occasional dirty pull up. However, if a child continues to have regular bowel movements in school we will call you to come to school and change the pull up onsite.
Beginning in September, 2 and 3 year old children who would like to extend their morning for lunch and play and enrichment must be in underwear. Lunch and play is the busiest hour of school and we cannot have teachers leaving the room for regular changes.
