Worship Services - 2007 Regular Schedule

Traditional Service:  9:30 in the Sanctuary
Contemporary Service:  11:00 in Fellowship Hall

(Special services and schedules on selected holidays)

Contemporary Service - In Fellowship Hall

The Contemporary service is designed as a casual place to start your week, meeting in Fellowship Hall in Hilltop House, 14 Hilltop Road.   The worship teams provide songs of praise, as we celebrate our lives together.  It is a great service for youth and adults alike, encouraging family worship in a simple format with its use of visuals and contemporary music.

  • Approximately 35 minutes long.

  • Casual setting.

  • Words to hymns and praise songs are projected on a screen and accompanied with keyboard and other instruments.

  • Different instrumentalists and ensembles contribute to the variety of music at the service.

Traditional Service - In the Sanctuary

We welcome visitors of all ages and faiths to join us at Hilltop Church for Sunday worship.  The historic sanctuary is a beautiful setting for hearing inspirational words of the scriptures and preaching of the Word by Diane Curtis, Interim Pastor.  Tom Berdos at the piano and Deborah Berdos at the magnificent organ accompany the singing of hymns and provide beautiful music.  The congregation, which has worshiped on this site for over 260 years offers meaningful worship, fellowship and an opportunity to grow and share in the Christian faith.

  • Approximately 60 minutes long.

  • Childcare provided for infants through 3-year-olds.

  • Congregants and guests follow a worship bulletin for responsive readings, and a hymnbook for songs.

  • Music by Tom and Deborah Berdos on organ and piano.

The sacraments are celebrated at both services

  • Communion is observed on the first Sunday of each month and on Maundy Thursday.  The invitation to the Lord's Supper is extended to all who have been baptized.

  • Baptism:  In the Reformed Presbyterian tradition, the Sacrament of Baptism is observed on the Lord's Day, usually during the worship service.

  • Special Services are provided during the year, including Family Worship, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service and Easter Sunrise.

  • Child Care: During the 9:30 worship service nursery care is provided in the sanctuary building for infants through 3-year-olds.

  • Tape Ministry:  For those unable to attend church, the worship service is audio-taped and delivered to their home.  Contact the Church Office for details.

Perhaps you are curious as to how a Presbyterian service differs from that of other denominations, or what is unique to the theology.  Pastor Curtis extends an invitation to meet and discuss such topics.  Click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page for information to schedule an appointment.  If you prefer, you may also consult online resources, such as the PC(USA) web site:  www.pcusa.org/navigation/whoweare.htm

Finally, it may also be of interest to know that a New Members Class typically forms in the Spring and Fall.  The classes consist of an afternoon meeting for all levels of inquirers, and are held at Hilltop House on Sunday afternoon.  You will have the opportunity to meet with other new people, as well as a pastor, to learn more about our church and denomination, while sharing in light refreshments.  Contact the church office for more information.
